Fall kicks off one of the busiest seasons each year for our CASA office and I hope you are making plans to join us for our events and trainings that all advocates and community supporters are invited to.
First some good news about our office and staff. Our CASA office has continued to be one of the fastest growing CASA agencies in Texas thanks to two more classes of advocates coming on board this summer. Eighteen (18) NEW volunteers have jumped in to help kids in our area and we are so grateful to them for helping us close the gap on the children in need of an advocate in our area. We have ONE MORE training class for new volunteers in 2023 that starts on September 26th. Please call our office or ask your friends to sign up if they would like to become a volunteer advocate. They can find all of the info online at www.casabellcoryell.org
We have also hired a new Advocate Supervisor. I am so excited to welcome Miesha Elliott to our team and she will start with us in early October. She brings a wealth of experience with children and has been a CASA Advocate as well, so I know she will be a great fit on our staff and bring a warm, supportive personality to work with our volunteers. We will send out more info once she has started in our office.
We have so many events and opportunities for you to get involved and help us build awareness for CASA in the next few weeks. Here are the upcoming events we want you to be part of:
CASA Open House – an informal information session for anyone interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer. The Open House is on September 14th at 5pm at the CASA office in Belton.
CASA Dine and Donate – McAlister’s Deli – 2416 SW H K Dodgen Loop, Temple, TX, US 76504. From 5 pm – 9pm – McAlister’s Deli will give CASA 10% of all food orders (dine in or take out) placed when you mention CASA!!
And finally…..our BIGGEST event of the fall season…..
Join us for CASA in the Country – Saturday, October 28th at The Ferris Wheel in Killeen. Great food and beverages, music, live and silent auctions, dancing, – a fun evening to get out and support CASA with your friends. The Ferris Wheel is a beautiful venue and we will have a live band from Austin, several local dignitaries and political representatives set to speak, and some amazing auction items up for grabs. Event info can be found on the CASA website at www.casabellcoryell.org. Get your tickets or purchase a table early because you don’t want to miss this fun event. Tickets are easy to buy with Eventbrite online. We also need event sponsors – please call the CASA office or find more info online if you would like to get your company a lot of great publicity for supporting a great cause. I hope to see YOU there!
Thank you for supporting CASA in any way you can. If you have the interest, we can find a way to get you involved in helping us as a supporter or an advocate for the children in need.
