CASA Volunteer Pre-Service Training Orientation: Overview of CASA & Blended Training

CASA Pre-Service Training consists of 17 hours of classroom training and 13 hours of home learning assignments, totaling 30 hours of training. This training is spread over 6 weeks with afternoon, evening, and weekend sessions available. New recruits must also complete background checks, one-on-one interviews with CASA staff, and 3 hours of CPS courtroom observation. Once recruits have successfully completed these requirements, they will be sworn in on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Make-up training sessions (if needed) will be scheduled during the week of 8/19/2019 – 8/23/2019, but times will vary based on CASA staff availability. If you note a conflict on your calendar for more than two (2) of the classroom training sessions or the Swear-In Ceremony on August 27 at 5:30 p.m., please notify the Recruitment and Training Coordinator.
